Yay, I am back. I love how #Mastodon the software asks for your email address, as if that's somehow easier to remember than your user id.
Pro tip: for people who use a different address for every service, it's not.
(I had to wipe #Mastalab's memory because of a bug. Turns out it fixed _several_ problems, including voting being broken.)

> We have computed the very first chosen-prefix collision for SHA-1. In a nutshell, this means a complete and practical break of the SHA-1 hash function, with dangerous practical implications if you are still using this hash function. To put it in another way: all attacks that are practical on MD5 are now also practical on SHA-1. Check our paper here for more details.
As much as i like privacytools.io, I like Pleroma better than Mastodon. I have created an account on a Pleroma server, @mistermonster and intend to migrate there over the next few days. I will be following everyone i currently follow from that account, any of you that follow me, if you would like to follow that account as well that would be cool. I will keep this one as a backup but will not be using it that often in the future.

This is the time to ask developers of forges (GitLab, Gitea, etc.) and ticket trackers (OpenProject, Taiga, etc.) to implement federation and to join the work on ForgeFed.
If you don't join, you don't get your needs taken into account, and we'll have a less useful lower quality spec.
Reminder, join if this stuff matters to you. And spread the word.
