@rw I don't know man, I abandoned one and sort of dabbled in another one that's more interesting. I still technically believe the more interesting stuff but don't really do anything with it. You can DM me if you want.

Dear F-Droid contributors, if you still have your apps' descriptions inside our YAML metadata, please note the old Wiki-style formatting has been abandoned (documentation has been updated: f-droid.org/docs/Build_Metadat). Use "simple" HTML formatting instead – and ideally move your descriptions to Fastlane 😍

For my friends on here that are unaware, I mostly use an alt account @mistermonster and don't really use this mastodon account all that often.

@dielan man you really want reacts? I hate react emojis. Respond if you have something to add. I get them in Signal too, and I can't stand it, so any time someone with the habit of using them says something I respond with a random meaningless emoji, for example 👌🏿

@Phaserune
F-droid doesn't work that way. If the maintainers of the main f-droid repo ever were to do something like this, anyone can create their own f-droid repo and host the app, making it still available to all users. Many developers host their own repos, including the Tor project, Bromite and the Monero client app Monerujo.

What will you do if you don't get a reply and get removed?

What if they just give you a vague answer about "instances hosting offensive material"?

If you do get a reply of which instances you have to block, would you please post that list so that we can mercilessly mock Google for it?

What will you do if this happens again?
@selea

Non-trademarked fully unlocked fork of Mattermost®

Source: github.com/cjdelisle/Matterfos
Why ?
1. Unless you buy an "enterprise license" even simple features like channel ownership are disabled (anyone can delete any channel)
2. Licenses are sold per-head so it's unusable for a public server
3. While the code is OSS, their trademark policy doesn't allow anyone to use their name in a fork
4. Unlike projects like Chromium, their trademark is all over their codebase
Tried to reach out, got no response.

@georgia lol I dealt with this a while back. Because of cross signing, you're fucked. If you've got a key backup you can verify on desktop and then cross sign from that session to your mobile session, but if you've got no key backups and no active sessions it would appear your account can never use encryption again.

These NewVector guys seem to always overlook a massive UX problem when they implement their bright ideas.

@georgia change.org petition to change the name "man page" to "person page" now pls.

I'd like to stand, and I'd like to breathe;

And I'd like to look everybody watching me in the eye, and let them know that I will continue breathing.

That is what it means to be free.

@Wetrix you need to learn a little about networking if you're interested in things like this.

Search these: IPFS, CJDNS, Yggdrassil.

A network dedicated to a failed 19th century political ideology is a waste of effort, particularly one using tools that already exist. IPFS for example already uses a Kademlia network topology for storing data.

We did it, Reddit! The new Pleroma release 2.1 is out, containing the first ever ActivityPub chat application!

Check out the release blog post at https://pleroma.social/blog/2020/08/28/releasing-pleroma-2-1-0/

Lots of changes in this one, I'm sure you'll like it!

@phoenix oh alright, I remember checking some feature changes when you updated last time.
