@Wetrix yeah, I'm 100% with you. I see some video about some cool thing someone built in Minecraft and I know I'm never going to sit there building something like that. There's no point.
I'm the same way about games in general. And there are a couple of games I really love, but I don't play them because I feel like I'm wasting my time playing them.
@JoYo that's the thing though, the law is unlawful, this is plainly obvious on it's face. I'm sure some of them will and some of them won't. A good citizen disobeys unjust laws.
@JoYo man in a fan of the guy. But I have thought what I'm saying before any of this. He's leaving California for Texas apparently. That's probably a smart move. I don't think there's a whole lot of benefit to being in California anymore, besides the beautiful landscape. I doubt when he made the deal with the state to build the facility they told him the county could shut his business down indefinitely unilaterally.
@JoYo you can't just let the government do whatever they want. They've got rules that they have to follow too, and we have to enforce those on them. I'm not crazy enough to think the virus isn't a big deal, but the government can't just tell you you can't do business. This isn't China.
@blacklight447 do you happen to know how to verify yourself (cross sign or restore keys or whatever) without having an active session?
@piggo what herb is that?
@georgia@dickkickextremist.xyz I find it unsettling that they seem to have an idea of how to emotionally manipulate people. If all the commercials are so similar, either all of them are coordinating on some type of campaign or they have emotional manipulation through video media down to a science. Occam's razor says the latter. And if you look outside, it is working. That's unsettling.
@dave
Any price reduction that comes with terms like "must be activated with such and such carriers" is not worth it one bit. I've played that game. I like to actually own my hardware.

@georgia@dickkickextremist.xyz they're all big lol. I kinda wish there was some smaller phones with decent specs out there, but that would be a niche market and probably not a profitable endeavor.
Get a 5t if you can find one used. Performance wise it is almost as good as everything since and much cheaper. To be honest phones have not improved much in terms of user performance in several years but the prices don't reflect that. People are buying jewelry st this point. My 3t runs great still.
@georgia@dickkickextremist.xyz the "flagship killer" has been dead since the oneplus 6t, with the T-Mobile agreement and a separate US and international variant. Oneplus is now an overpriced device.
Other companies that offer cheaper devices that have decent performance are plagued with ties to the Chinese government. It seems that to get a decent priced phone that performs nowadays the cost will.be subsidized by the CCP in return for data harvesting.
@georgia@dickkickextremist.xyz these attempts to create a distro agnostic package system have just led to more fragmentation. I like Appimage, not more than my native package manager (apt-get right now, but I like pacman better) but it is the only one of these new packaging tools that makes any sense.

I do not recognize anyone’s right to one minute of my life. Nor to any part of my energy. Nor to any achievement of mine. No matter who makes the claim, how large their number or how great their need.
