Why do you have Liam Neeson as your avatar?
@georgia@dickkickextremist.xyz
@phoenix do you use it?
@phoenix @lain
https://git.pleroma.social/pleroma/pleroma/issues/1364 it appears to be directly related to this issue.
@phoenix
I had notified the dev (not through the proper channels though unfortunately) and am hoping this issue was fixed for 2.0. I'm about to find out.
@phoenix
The issue is that when you go into Pleroma settings you can turn off replies from people you follow (so you don't get inundated with their hellthreads but don't have to mute them), but the problem is it only works in Pleroma FE, so third party clients still show them.
@phoenix
No I think I reported that bot that was advertising nonsense a couple of months ago I can't remember what it was advertising but we had a laugh about it later.
@phoenix
Dude you're fast! I bet most instances will not upgrade for months.
@phoenix
Shit I've got to switch to my account on your server I need to see if that issue I was having is fixed.
@JapanAnon
I had already subscribed but man, you really need to do periodic backups, at least of the federation database.
@phoenix
Did you hear Pleroma 2.0 is out today?
@JoYo
Real deal or messing around? That shit is scary these days.
@fribbledom
Is that capitalism? I was unaware.
@Wetrix
Apparently the avenue of attack on this is revoking section 320 exemptions ("platforms" are not liable for user generated content) so this might affect stuff like FB or Google but will not affect stuff like Matrix or XMPP. Use FOSS comms and encryption and you'll be fine.
Post notification to fediverse social web when code is updated. https://github.com/rzr/fediverse-action/blob/master/README.md
@fedilab@toot.fedilab.app maybe useful to notify of updates?
@forgefed maybe useful for bridging github to ForgeFed compatible git servers?
@phoenix
That's because it is. I'm waiting on video/voice so I can ditch riot.im. Also multi account support is on the list of future improvements so that will be cool too.

Great write up about using pseudonyms online.

I do not recognize anyone’s right to one minute of my life. Nor to any part of my energy. Nor to any achievement of mine. No matter who makes the claim, how large their number or how great their need.
