I'm probably going to spin up a Lemmy instance for certain communities I engage in on there and invite mods to moderate if they'd like.

Amorphous content policy I can tolerate begrudgingly. But now they want you to police your thoughts. "Think before you laugh". I shouldn't have to refer to the rules to vote. If it shouldn't be on the site take it down.

Reddit updated their policy today, they will suspend users for voting on content that violates a rule. Voting.

They are also blocking you from viewing comments unless you are logged in or using the app.

I have deleted my reddit account today and I suggest you do the same. dev.lemmy.ml (until a stable release), littr.me, notabug.io if you want alternatives.

imagine buying products to join a companies "ecosystem"

@georgia
You'd rather get a salary? That's how they get you to work overtime without extra pay. "We fund your life at a flat rate and take whatever we need of your time". If you take a salary they own you. I prefer commissions, piece work, contracting and that before hourly but I definitely would rather get paid hourly than salary.

Yeah, a long time ago. It's selling point was features and had some stability issues for me. Also I don't think they particularly care about folks that degoogle, it is taken for granted that you'll flash gapps.

@Wetrix
I don't use any apps that do this, but I block all FB domains with AdAway. secure.fanboy.co.nz/fanboy-ant is a hosts file that blocks all known FB domains.

I know Dell machines don't even have blobs you can run on Linux. So if you buy one it won't work. Check model numbers before buying, most fingerprint readers do require them but some don't, and some just don't work. I don't know which ones.

There are two types of videos with emulated voiceovers: late night rabbit hole back alley UFO slideshows and super dank shitposts.

@kick
You sure shill their products pretty hard for someone who hates them.
@georgia@dickkickextremist.xyz

@kick
Alright dude, I've done it, you can be a butthurt fabboy about it if you want, I'm just sharing my experiences.
@georgia@dickkickextremist.xyz

@georgia@dickkickextremist.xyz
Because they're consumer plebs who need a Facebook machine.

Yeah the only real reason to put a real system on the pixelbooks is if you got one second hand. Buying one new to nuke it seems very counterproductive.

@georgia@dickkickextremist.xyz
Seriously, don't get a pixelbook. I did a gallium OS install on one for a friend and you've got to open it and jumper shit with tin foil and all kinds of ridiculous nonsense. Then randomly the system stopped booting to user space and he had to start x server from a root shell. Just get a thinkpad or a pine book and thank me a year after that when your life is easy.

There are two kinds of people.

Those idiots who see humanity in terms of "us" vs. "them"...

And we, the Enlightened, who have evolved beyond such low and base thought patterns.
