@glitcher32 I have been warned for being an asshole a couple of times though, I would say a warning is not that big of a deal. Maybe they expect heavy participation in the community before they tolerate any promotion of your own stuff.

@glitcher32 so most of the people there don't know a damn thing about privacy, every other post is a question about how to delete a Facebook account or if such and such obscure app collects data. Honestly I've realized that you're not going to learn a damn thing on that sub.

I've generally gotten away with a lot over there, not sure what you have been hit for.

@kaikatsu I dont think those sorts of things push people to be alt-right, I think those things push people back into reality. There's plenty more that is commonly accepted as not crazy that push people away that you wouldn't like me pointing out. If you think comparing racism to not giving AI rights is the last straw I wonder what you think you're trying to draw people towards.

@georgia yeah there's a client for it called Manyverse in f-droid. Its pretty interesting, I wanted to test it out but all my meat space friends are lame asses who watch TV and aren't interested in cool things.

@georgia it really is. I think it is the future of social networking online, there's no way that silos can compete long term with networks that have no pressure from investors to be profitable and can grow and shrink with use and who's rules adjust to the userbase at their will.

Your supposition, "any learned person would agree with me, therefore of they disagree they must be ignorant" is a common belief. You can probably guess that I feel the same way about what I believe. Calling someone ignorant accomplishes nothing, other than protecting oneself from having to try to understand the other point of view. That's why I don't do it.

There's nothing for me to learn from that thread. Your agitation is showing.

@yogthos OK, well I'd say that there's no way you have any idea what I know and understand from just this back and forth, I'm not going to learn much history from a twitter thread and if your response to a disagreement is that I am somehow ignorant I'd say you haven't spent a whole lot of effort learning what those that disagree with you believe or why they believe it.

@yogthos I'm having no trouble understanding, I just think you're wrong. And I do not believe that eliminating capitalism would better the problem at all. I believe history shows that. The source of the problem is the position of power, without capitalism you'd have the powerful acting on their own behalf rather than as mercenaries on behalf of others. Eliminating the position of power eliminates the problem entirely, that's better than any theoretical major contributor.
