@dielan congratulations man
@rw "work hard play hard" means everyone is a drug addict that can't afford their habit without working 60 hours a week.
@Wetrix @darylsun you toot a lot of privacy oriented stuff, I'm surprised you're OK with these accounts following you. Looking at your profile nothing is hidden, so these bots can see your follows and followers and everything you've ever said.
They could get a good chunk of the mastodon social graph this way and sell it, and statistically analyze your language to correlate you to other accounts you might have. Everything FB can do, on mastodon, a follower can do.
@astheroth lol how did that happen
@astheroth I'm right there with you man. A lot of what's going on nowadays is not right, and the people that perpetuate it claim the highest moral virtue, they'd have you believe their intentions are as pure as the virgin Mary.
@lain I really like the minimalistic style of your blog https://blog.soykaf.com and I was wondering what tools you used to build it and what tools you use to update it. I am assuming that you don't just write every blog post with the HTML and CSS in a text editor. What do you use?
@glitcher32 yeah, I've got that turned off but it still shows in toots I do from mobile
@cjd burn tires. You don't even have to buy them, you can probably get paid to haul them off.
Moe: Has anybody just tried talking to them to find out what they really think?
Larry: Don't be silly, you can't *talk* to them, they'll use their sneaky mind control to recruit you into one of them.
Moe: What if they're mostly just regular human beings with hopes and fears. What if their "leaders" are telling them the same things about us?
Larry: Good god man, you're getting sucked in, I can't lose you after all we've been through. Here, watch this video...
@Wetrix @nikolal yeah, and that might work for some people, but the option to take the risks should be there. Scamming people using cryptocurrency is already illegal, it makes it easier to get away with but harder to do if you know how to protect yourself. And I don't particularly have faith in institutions that let banks steal while the rest of us need permission to use cash at the store. I'm more likely to get an overdraft fee than get robbed.
@Wetrix maybe I'm just cynical about it, but I don't really think financial institutions serve the interests of the people most of the time, or prevent thefts, scams and that sort of thing. Big lenders, banks and markets do things like that all the time, the financial crisis of 08 is a good example. And even of they do, I'd rather take responsibility for my own security and decisions I make and blame myself if I get scammed if the trade off is financial sovereignty.
@Wetrix life is a disaster of schemes, hacks, scams and thefts. That's why we all do lots of things to protect our information. Cryptocurrencies just enable people to engage in finance without coercion, from banks, governments or anyone else. In my mind engaging in commerce is a human right, and cryptocurrencies enable people to do that without restriction. I should be able to buy something from you or sell you something you want without a man there telling us how we are allowed to do that.
@Wetrix that's no good. The grounds that control of money is for sovereign nations is bad too. All cryptocurrencies can be banned on these grounds. And I don't doubt they will ban them eventually

I do not recognize anyone’s right to one minute of my life. Nor to any part of my energy. Nor to any achievement of mine. No matter who makes the claim, how large their number or how great their need.
