So Bitchute finally implemented their own comment system instead of relying on Disqus? Big fucking deal.

LBRY and PeerTube have had their own integrated comment system for ages. FOSS alternatives to Disqus were available to use or fork this whole time. Ray Vahey has insisted on reinventing the wheel for almost every facet of his site, and its put him miles behind his competition.

People like Styx want to brush that off by comparing contemporary Bitchute to YouTube a decade ago, and that isn't even a valid comparison. Complaints against Bitchute exist because other platforms and services are already doing what they're trying to do, better and faster.

@JapanAnon dude BitChute fanbois are not tech minded. Styx will talk about "alt-tech" all day and you never hear the words PeerTube or Mastodon (or Fedi) or anything like that. These guys use Parler.

Don't get me wrong, I like as much competition to the big corps that run the tech game, even proprietary competition, but to expect the users of those new silos to have perspective from the real internet is asking a bit much.

@mister_monster I often wonder, though... I know Gab Inc.®© is publicly traded, but I wonder if Bit Chute Limited has any shareholders outside its own management, and if so, how many its loudest shills hold.
