invidio.us is shutting down as of September 1st. If you have an account there, you'd best migrate to another instance before the month is out:

@JapanAnon
The post sas something about the api or whatever will be up till 1. Of october. Dose this mean other inctwnses will start running in to isuss then or do you have any idea if they are still gonna work?

@Twelve I'm not sure, but Omarroth pointed to https://liberapay.com/iv-org with the implication that it would be entrusted with future stewards of the project. So if a replacement dev or team can pick up the work, the api may continue to be supported down the road.

@JapanAnon
Hopefully it dose. I really like invidious and i don't know of any altwrnetives to it

@Twelve on mobile devices, I can recommend NewPipe at least. It offers the same functionality, plus it's pretty feature rich.

@JapanAnon
I'm a little sick of NewPipe to be honest. It keeps getting more buggy and less useful. I subscribe to videos on everything other than YouTube with an RSS reader.
@Twelve

@mister_monster @Twelve My only issue with NewPipe is when YouTube breaks shit on their end. And it usually gets patched pretty quickly, though I'm installing directly from their FDroid repo so that probably helps.

I used to really like NewPipe, but the app has gotten bloated as hell. Old NewPipe, before comments and optional accounts and SoundCloud and Peertube support was really good. An RSS reader with a video player built in, and background playback, would be perfect, forget all the youtube specific stuff. Then you could at YouTube, Bitchute, Peertube, essentially any video host with RSS support, without worrying about APIs.

@mister_monster @Twelve At least there's Legacy NewPipe for a more lightweight experience...

idk about other features, but personally I was happy for PeerTube support. Nice to have an app for it aside from Thorium, which is still a bit clunky.
