Get a 5t if you can find one used. Performance wise it is almost as good as everything since and much cheaper. To be honest phones have not improved much in terms of user performance in several years but the prices don't reflect that. People are buying jewelry st this point. My 3t runs great still.

Disagree slightly, as I appreciate these newer 18:9 to 21:9 screens that give you some extra real estate while still keeping the phone reasonably-sized. The Essential PH-1 I used for about 2 years only felt very slightly bigger in the hand than the Nexus 5, but the taller screen gave the device room for a much bigger battery, which I really appreciated.
