Checking out a messenger called Delta Chat, it essentially uses email to do messaging, so an IM UI paradigm around email. Great so far, might make it my main contact method since everyone he has email.

Any email, I use mail.com but anything that supports IMAP would work, and you can encrypt chats so you don't really have to worry about that if you don't want to.
@mister_monster The mail.com check email thing on the create account page says "A technical error has occurred".
Im guessing creating an anonymous account is impossible.

@mister_monster Delta Chat is cool and all, but I don't see the point of end to end encryption if the messages still show in the email inbox?

Also I found something called MapBox in the app, which could be a tracker.
