Given the stance that Fedilab is taking, I will be blocking that client from being able to access x0r.be in the future. If you're using that client, now is the time to switch to a multitude of capable ones.

There should be a cost for Fedilab for enabling hate speech.

@szbalint Even though I don't think I'd do this myself, I do think it's really cool to see experimentation with this type of social pressure.

What about marking (e.g. with a red border) every toot from someone who follows a person on gab, or every toot from someone who follows someone on gab, etc...

Yes and no, if anyone suggests putting people in camps, I'm obviously going to be strongly opposed.

But this is just social networking we're talking about, so I say why not explore what happens when we use different strategies to block people en masse, we might discover that the best way to cultivate high quality conversation is actually hidden behind a ban strategy which nobody considered because it just seemed too repulsive.

@cjd
I appreciate your view on this from an experimentation perspective, but I don't think anyone should be engineering "high quality conversation" for others or a wider network as that means different things to different people.

Also "just a social network" makes them seem less important than they are. They're tools for people to organize, that is important.
