hatespeech-friendly clients, blocking, x0r.be

Given the stance that Fedilab is taking, I will be blocking that client from being able to access x0r.be in the future. If you're using that client, now is the time to switch to a multitude of capable ones.

There should be a cost for Fedilab for enabling hate speech.

@szbalint have you considered blocking access from Firefox and chrome? surprisingly both of these allow you to access gab.ai 😱

re: hatespeech-friendly clients, blocking, x0r.be

@xj9 yeah I did. There would be nothing wrong about Firefox or Chrome blocking white supremacist content on the browser level from an ethical perspective. It’s the wrong layer to do the blocking from the technical perspective though. In case of general purpose browsers dns providers, domain registrars and cdns etc should do the blocking.

I should finish my blogpost about this...

@szbalint
You think the client is the wrong layer to do the blocking from eh? And this doesn't apply to fedilab why, exactly? Wouldn't an analogue to domain registrars be, I dunno, instances?
