I'm currently reading a Dirk Pitt novel, and watching Sahara on Netflix... Damn, this movie really didn't do most of the characters justice.
@chris I remember really liking the book, but the movie is forgettable. Despite Penelope Cruz starring in it!
@michel_slm Sounds about like my thoughts. I still picture McConohay (sp?) as Dirk though so I guess that wasn't a bad casting choice... Al and Rudy though... nope.
@chris he's quite good in Contact too. I actually like that movie despite them simplifying the plot quite a bit (and Jena Malone as the young Ellie Arroway is amazing)
