One Island, multiple Names
The Portuguese navigator Fern茫o do P贸, the first European to visit the island in 1472 named it #FormosaFlora (Beautiful Flower), but in 1494 it was renamed by Europeans as #Fern茫oDoP贸 and later the name of the island is changed from P贸 to P贸o, so the islands Name was #FernandoP贸o. Under the Africanization policy of dictator Masie Nguema Biyogo it was renamed #MasieNguemeBiyogo Island. The island's native name in the Bube language is #Otcho. The modern name is #Bioko.
