Just watched a few moments of the movie on commercial television. By the amount of commercials and thus the total time involved watching that movie, I would call it the green marathon.

@loweel I run a intel NuC with alpine/docker here. So I could set up a mastodon Instance , but then I would mis all the chatter on the local timeline because no one is there to fill it. Of course I would have the global timeline.

@loweel thank you Loweel. I am on reddit too. I check out lemmy too. I just like the fact all can communicate together. And my info is not sold like on Facebook and Twitter. I don’t feel like I’m the product here. But that could only be in my mind. Fact is: the people I have met so far on mastodon are very nice people. On Twitter there is a lot of hate.

Now looking for a substitute for Instagram. Found something like pixelfed. But I am not fully aware of al fediverse app platforms. What’s more in this world of the fediverse!?

I’ve been on the Facebook and Twitter for a long time. Since (I guess) 3 years or so I have presence on the Fediverse. Mainly mastodon. I like mastodon a lot because it’s a fine replacement of Twitter. I am very close of killing my Facebook account. Twitter I am not sure if but I am spending much time there anymore. Mainly on the privacytools mastodon instance now.

Dumb question maybe but how can I easily distinguish a private/direct toot from the rest of toots?

I use the app @tootapp

@privacytools @jonah Hi. I am trying to get an account on your "writefreely" service on 3 channels but no avail.

Can you help me with an account on that service, please?

@Tommy I quite like to way you share your knowledge and trade. I have a feeling you are very passionate about this "get the most privacy on the internet". I really admire that!

You also bring this information in a very open and genuine way.

Just do your thing and do not let people (like that guy) get you from your path.

@Tommy That was quite a conversation with that guy. I think he wants a 100% safe/foolproof/secure service on a platform (the internet) that is not safe/foolproof and secure at all.

@vifon @tadzik @Tommy @Tutanota

I agree with you.. I think the people at Tutanota do their uppermost to get a good service running.

@tadzik @Tommy @Tutanota

Tadzik: That is what I also meant that wrapping your device and trust.

You never know if a sevice you use is safe, that counts for all stuff. Every car-manufacturer claim that have the safest cars, But to stay truly safe from traffic is to sit in your basement en lock the door.

by the way I market nothing. I have nothing to do with Tutanota. I just use it.

@tadzik @Tommy @Tutanota

You are very passionate person. If peoples lives depend on it, they will also seek other means of communication...

@tadzik @Tommy @Tutanota

I advise you:
1. cut all cables to your computer
2. put your computer in a box
3. wrap it
4. put that in a box again..
5. put that in a safe

now you know , no one can access your data.

@tadzik @Tommy @Tutanota

No you can't be ee2e is the receiving end is also not ee2e... that is normal isn't it??
If I spoke Dutch and you spoke French... we won't be able to understand each other... That seems normal to me...

Yes you need trust.. and yes I don't work for Tutanota. So I don't know entirely if they don't leak.

But hey I don't work at my bank. And I trust them to get my money safely across...

@Tommy I guess they have better privacy because more is encrypted... only the encryption of Protonmail is stronger.. but they encrypted less of your data

@tadzik @Tommy @Tutanota

1. Eee2e is only is the sender en receiver are both using Tutanota. But my emails are stored encrypted on the servers of Tutanota, so no one can read them. Also not Tutanota. And yes if I send a email to a NON-tutanota-user the mail is of course NOT encrypted... that is no rocket science.

2. Headers are not encrypted BUT HEAVILY stripped by Tutanota... Did YOU ever check that? I did, and it is the true, they do that!

@Tommy @protonmail @Tutanota

I like Tutanota for it's price-point and I guess better privacy than Protonmail.
