Maybe I'm mistaken, but I have an account here on privacytools.io on mastodon.
I can follow the local timeline.
But if I want to follow the local timeline on another instance, there is no other way to also create an account on that instance too, right?

You can follow other instances feeds from Fedilab app. I don't know for iOS though
