Feels good to have just sent my first Freedom of Information Act () request to my home county council ().

I've asked whether is used; if so, how is the data handled/shared, and which locations/services is it used for. I think making such requests is a practice we should all get into.

Next, I want to ask about the video and audio that's captured on every bus I ride...

I'm welcome to other suggestions, especially regarding and use.

@syntax no saying that you do the wrong thing, but you realize if everyone is going to make these requests this is going to take a lot of tax-money. And you know who pays the taxes, right? And you know who are authorized to raise taxes.

Of course we shouldn't waste local authorities' time, but neither should we rely on others (such as nonprofits and advocacy groups) to do it all for us. The bottom line is we have the right to access this information, so we should understand how such processes work (which have been put in place for us) and take advantage of the laws that hold authorities to account.

@syntax as said you're not doing the wrong thing. But if we all should do this, it will have impact.
