Anyone using PGP here for email encryption (with thunderbird)?
Or do you think it's troublesome because no one uses in that manner.
@marc0janssen I used to use it, its good stuff. Don't use it now, because my e-mail provider doesn't have IMAP option. ProtonMail allows you to handle PGP keys.
@marc0janssen I use pgp with outlook mail client (using the gpg4win outlook plugin). It was easy to set up but like you said not many other folks use pgp so getting critical mass is tough. My approach is to have the pgp ready, ask if folks have a public key, and try to raise awareness of encryption that way.
@marc0janssen I use it with Mail.app on macOS but I don’t think I’ve ever sent an encrypted message since I don’t know anyone else with keys, pretty useless. I just sign everything by default and that’s about it.
@jonah So you bought MacPGP then?
@marc0janssen
Yeah rarely used. I use gpg encryption with K9-Mail on my Android phone. There are also add-ons for using gpg in web-based email clients.
