Remember when FSF demanded source code for fixing Windows after Windows 7 reached EOL? Maybe they will find something useful in these recent leaks?


@nikolal I read somewhere that people taking part in FOSS projects avoid looking at leaked code, but I think that article was about printers. In short, they may accidentally repeat some part of the code and the project will face charges. ReactOS had an issue with that, at one point they had a big clean up where they had to remove chunks of code with unknown source. I'm not sure they will risk even looking at that leak.

@m_svo This makes sence, there probably will be some legal charges if leaked code is used. Now that I remember it they specificaly asked to make Win7 code open source
