I've just been emailed by someone who wants to pay me to post sponsored content on mastodon.social

Looks like they're not taking a simple "no" for an answer so since they're likely keeping an eye on me, I'm putting NO on my TL publicly

Also, if I've been approached who else has been? And are they already posting sponsored content? How can I tell without a "sponsored" label? Is that a feature that should even be implemented?

@cypnk I hope I will never see advertisements on mastodon. If they do show it for whatever reason, they should make a switch to show ads but who wants that.

@lnx For now, I don't see any instances tolerating it except for maybe super niche ones. Even then, others might defederate quickly from those

@cypnk I believe that those in marketing should stick to their popular sheepish social media sites, instead of clawing their reach to places that don't need them.
