Over the next few years the world is going to start to realize how bad of an idea it was to let private US tech rise to the level of public utilities while also privatizing accountability and other basic functions to the same companies who's only goal is stock price.
@chris I certainly hope we are in the golden age of #SurveillanceCapitalism. I mean that it has peaked, but I am not optimistic given the powerful machines now deployed to manufacture ignorance. Some privileged people are starting to wake up in the developed world, but they are a minority.
@chris I try to be hopeful and realistic. I agree we will be in the trenches a long time if not the rest of our lives resisting this. Thank you for your work at raising grassroots awareness which is where we need to start.
@krock I definitely fear we’re only at the beginning and the opposition isn’t organized enough to actually do anything about it.
