As should this photo, by Виктория Халиуллина (Victoria Halyullina). It depicts the pro-Navalny protest in Yekaterinburg.

The protesters were forced to walk across the frozen lake. If you zoom in, in the bottom-left corner there's a building with the sign saying:
"WHO ARE WE? WHERE FROM, AND WHERE TO ARE WE GOING?"

The symbolism is so strong it hurts.

This photo by Chris Niedenthal was taken at the beginning of martial law in communist Poland, in 1981.

It is packed with symbolism. The armored personnel carrier is in the foreground, on the backdrop of the "Moskwa" ("Moscow") cinema with Apocalypse Now banner (translated in Polish as "Time of Apocalypse").

It became an icon, a screenshot of the political moment.

@kravietz Because this is not about environment but about political agenda. You get the same hate and irrational fear towards GMO.

China's first Hualong One (HPR1000) reactor was connected to the Chinese grid on January 30th.

Another five HPR1000s are scheduled to enter service by next year, making for 4 total in China and 2 in Pakistan.

As China's first self-developed Gen III reactor design, it is targeted not only at the domestic market, but also at the export.

Construction time was 5 years. (via Maya Posh)

Now they removed that paragraph and it's unclear whether it was just a dumb journalist, or quote-not-marked-a-quote from one of the MEPs:

Prosecution surprisingly highlights the lack of independence of Russian court system:

"I would like to draw attention to the fact that Navalny is the only person in Russia who received a privileged treatment [in the form of twice suspended sentence], yet, ignoring this humanitarian attitude that was shown to him, he continued to violate his duties".

Which literally sounds like "the tsar has shown his mercy but you weren't grateful enough".

Should I install this Lenovo BIOS/UEFI update or will it mess up my Arch install?

Version 1.34 [Important updates]

Add Kernel DMAR protection. If the UEFI BIOS has been updated to version 1.34 or higher, it is no longer able to roll back to the version before 1.34 for boot problem prevention.
