Will antivaxx community make this curve less exponential? I didn't think they are so powerfull until I saw how many they are in my parents circle of friends. And they are full conspiracy package from US: chemtrails, 5G you name it

last year, the UK financial regulator (the Financial Conduct Authority, or the ‘FCA’ for short), introduced a requirement for all crypto businesses in the UK to register with the FCA to confirm that they comply with the UK’s money laundering regulations (The Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds (Information on the Payer) Regulations 2017).

The FCA set a deadline of 10 January 2021 for all UK crypto businesses to be registered or they would need to stop offering crypto services.

@drq I used to advocate for XMPP for many years, but I don't think there's any point anymore. I think multiple factors contributed to the downfall of XMPP... The underlying tech simply went out of vogue, nobody's excited to write or parse XML; too many crucial functions were not part of the core standard so UX varied wildly between different client and server apps, and of course the EEE by Google and Facebook contributed too, you could argue if that was a licensing failure

Twitter's censoring Sci-Hub which is under threat of being banned in India where for many it is the only way to access knowledge.

Meanwhile Trump who is tweeting again.

Don't be foolish and expect Twitter to make the right judgment call rather than just suck up to power.

Not now, not ever.

Does anyone know of an trustworthy/ethical mailing list service provider (which my employers could use to send newsletters and info to service users and staff?)

(Its not intended for emailing random people, just those who have opted in).

Preferably based in UK or Europe..

It's not really attack on "Google Titan U2F" but on underlying NXP A700X chip - still very interesting. I've been involved in a lot of work around smartcards and digital signatures back in 2000's, it seems like today everyone is basically repeating the same mistakes and rediscovering the same vulnerabilities again :)

The only reason why every single council, house or car rental agency, job agency, financial advisor etc etc are collecting highly sensitive personal data like passports and bank statements is that in lack of a single identity document they need each to verify person's identity from scratch and, of course, they have no clue how to protect it. Elsewhere you just give your national id number and show your id to confirm you are who you are, and that's it...

"Hold on, I gotta go to the bathroom (falls down the stairs)"

@Facebook This reflects badly on the European Commission, who've just approved the Google-Fitbit merger. Should we expect the same level of commitment from Google? 🤷‍♂️
