Been in control of our non-profit org about a year. I inherited it when the original board had to step down. We're finally moving the infrastructure from Google Drive to #Nextcloud.

By the beginning of next year:

+ Jitsi for our conferencing
+ Nextcloud for documents and collaboration
+ And we've been using Matrix/Element for our chat. Migrating our old boards from Slack.

This is not just about open source. This is also a simpler setup for our team.

I sometimes think English people are deceived into thinking America is less foreign than it is because they speak the same language, though in this case... twitter.com/rightwingwatch/sta

* Testing rate *much much* too low. 2020-11-04 bluebird data for yesterday: 69,000 tests, 25,000 positive results = 36% positive. => true infection rate must be *much* higher.

* Church gatherings unrestrained.

* Censorship of medical personnel - only a few early cases are listed here:

Wow... cases per million continue to be skyrocketing in since end of September, even exceeding UK by a factor of two! Even though in April it was 10:1 the other way around... Any idea why? 🤔

"Poison Over Troubled Forwarders: A Cache Poisoning Attack Targeting DNS Forwarding Devices"

This paper describes a DNS fragmentation attack against CPE forwarders in residential home routers. These kinds of attacks succeed over UDP. TCP based DNS queries (like with DoT or DoH) are not vulnerable.

Or, even better, having a DNSSEC validating resolver in the own network or on the own machine (if possible):

Mastodon does not store passwords in plain text. This is trivial to confirm as Mastodon is an open-source project. We use the bcrypt algorithm for one-way hashing of passwords. I can't believe someone is spreading misinformation about something so trivial to debunk.
