Hi all - we've released a fourth release candidate for Riot 1.6 at http://riot.im/staging, incorporating lots of feedback and bug reports from last week's RCs. The more you help test cross-signing & E2EE search (via http://packages.riot.im/nightly) the sooner we'll be able to ship! :D
Modern Russia is not North Korea and there is free speech there (although pushed to the corner), but job of a journalist there is still associated with a risk of assassination by "unknown perpetrators". So it takes some courage:
"Journalists at Vedomosti, one of Russia’s most prominent business publications, on Thursday accused their editor of imposing stifling pro-Kremlin censorship upon them and suggested the board of directors appoint someone else"
Russian oil companies consider burning already extracted oil that they cannot sell and to reduce supply as part of agreement within the OPEC cartel https://www.finanz.ru/novosti/birzhevyye-tovary/rossiya-nachnet-szhigat-lishnyuyu-neft-1029124044

"Across Russia, #COVID19 patients are getting doxxed and harassed. Sometimes, their home addresses show up online just minutes after they test positive. Our investigation traced many of these leaks to medical staff, police, and neighbors."

OK Mastodon Users
If my ~calculations~ are correct, the Mastodon Community Stimulus Redistribution fundraiser is now exactly $489 away from $26k.
Which Means,
We ~only~ need someone to donate $69, and another person or group of people to donate $420, to get to
*bass boosted*
Twenty Six Thousand Dollars
to redistribute to fellow Mastodon users facing financial hardship.
Can we do this tonight?

@freemo @kravietz I did a full write up on why graphs like this are really misleading:

The TL;DR is that 3 months of time series data != 12 months of some other non-time series data. But real the post for a more detailed explanation.

Note this is early research, but very interesting:
"DNA is just the ingredient list, not the set of instructions used to build and maintain a living organism. The instructions, he says, are much more complicated, and they're stored in the molecules that regulate a cell's DNA and other functioning systems"

Just testing two really great infrastructure security products Wallarm and Vulners.com. At @webcookies I've been using Vulners API for years, but now I've actually implemented the server-side scanner. Wallarm has a WAF (testing soon) but also a really cool DAST scanner.
Well, in Eastern Europe we have seen 100x more corruption before 1989. You had to pay a bribe to get a fucking sausage 😂
