That's a fantastic project from engineering and humanitarian point of view. It doesn't in any way cancel the humanitarian abuse by Qaddafi government that caused mass protests in Zawiya and Benghazi and civil war.

This apparent paradox is caused by a slight difference between the massive increase in risk of death increasing with age and nearly as massive decrease in risk with full vaccination.

Nearly, but slightly smaller.

For a 70 yo person, the increase in risk from age alone is 32x as compared to 35 yo.

Double vaccination reduces that risk by 20x.

Now, this is a nice showcase but not a representative statistics (one day, small sample).

A more detailed picture could be recently seen in the UK report, which has been promptly picked up by anti-vaxers as proof that "vaccines are harmful", as 63% of people who died of Delta variant received at least one dose of vaccine.
