Doctors in Netherlands 🇳🇱 publish an open letter to their minister of health to stop creating distrust and misinformation around the vaccines. The letter is accompanied by an x-ray of heavily damaged lungs of a patient who refused vaccine in fear of the clots hyped by politicians and media, and soon after contracted

The whole McKeigue & WGSPM scandal brings echoes of similar debates from the past, such as British scientists who were also communists - such as Bernal - defending Trofim Lysenko. Basically, what happens when people turn from scientists into activists.

Hans Kristian Gaarder, 60, a Norwegian conspiracy theorist, who believed was a hoax, has died from the virus just days after hosting two illegal gatherings at his property.

When I lived in Poland and still was on Facebook, some mums were organising "pox parties" which was a very dumb way to expose their children to chickenpox. I guess Gaarder tried the same with Covid... 🤔

Staffers at One America News said they felt responsible for spreading misinformation that led to the Capitol riot. But they had bills to pay, they said, and no other job options. "We're not Nazis," one producer told me. "Just, like, everyday people." 🤷

There's only one EU country that recently celebrated 50% wind and solar installed capacity.

Installed.

This is what it means in practice:

@whirli The challenge of Western countries is that they don't really have much options unless they were ready for an equivalent response, because this is certainly what Putin would understand, as he understood Turkey shooting down Russian jet that notoriously violated Turkish air space. The problem is that this way you effectively resort to the methods of your opponent, and Western countries try to claim moral superiority - as if buying gas from Putin was somehow better...

@whirli The case of Czechia is a step to a new level as the target was military infrastructure of an EU & NATO country, with the only "only killing our own" link was that the arms were allegedly (!) intended for Ukraine - and even if true, Ukraine is a sovereign country that has the right to buy their arms wherever they wish. But now even that destination is denied by the Bulgarian trader who purchased the ammunition - and still, two Czech citizens were left dead.

@whirli And to be honest, Western politicians are also seemingly willing to accept that behaviour from Russia as long as it has a plausible "we're only killing our own" excuse.

This was the case with Litvinenko, Skripals, all the Chechens - and in all cases the strongest reaction was a diplomatic note or expulsion of diplomats, even though innocent citizens were killed in most of the cases.
