@jb55

That's how protocols like DAT and IPFS have operated since like always, so no wonder BitTorrent catches up. But Libgen already uses IPFS for individual files, while BitTorrent is only uses for distribution of mirrors.

I wonder who was that first brain-dead manager who decided to put a second email field on web forms for "confirmation" and to enforce it being typed from the keyboard… Now instead of having the field automatically filled by the browser/from a clipboard with 100% accuracy, I have not one but two opportunitites to make a typo.

And I don't even wonder who are all those managers who decided then to copy this obviously broken shit in every CSM on Earth, because of course they did…

“To be honest, a lot of it felt very forced,” Riley told Motherboard. “There were many images that were just formless blobs or of basic objects. It was quite a stretch to come up with emotions and explanations at times.”

@lukem Then it's certainly a justified expense, regardless of the price 😂

@slice313 Precisely, hard to squeeze so many mistakes into a single sentence 😂

Linux distros are not 100% impervious to supply chain attacks, but you'd have to really go out of your way to make a Debian system install deb packages from untrusted sources.

In Debian, package uploads are signed by Debian developers who have to go through debian.org/devel/join/newmaint before getting upload access, and new packages are manually reviewed by FTP masters (ftp-master.debian.org/#new).

Anyone can upload anything to NPM et al.

Remember that meme about soldiers treating wounds with "essential oils"? Well, that wasn't a joke... Here's a publication that describes application of essential oils for treatment (not) of strokes...

In case of PV and wind production, this would be respectively 11 and 5 million tons of CO2 respectively, when compensated for low capacity factor by adding extra nominal power, but ignoring additional storage which would also result in CO2 emissions.

@dajbelshaw In both cases this was my own stupidity so nothing to be sorry about 😂 When you're tall you need to be extra careful about your back...

@dajbelshaw

Been there for the last 5 years or so, and twice. Never leave anything related to the spine to heal itself. If you feel pain, most likely the disc is exerting pressure on the nerves which may lead to inflammation and damage them in long term. In most cases at early stage physiotherapy and exercise will solve the problem for long, but you want to be on the safe side.
