> Accepting checks
WTF? You mean the tiny paper forms as sometimes seen in 80's movies? So you are suggesting a developer should expose their postal address to receive a letters with a check for $5, then take it to the bank... and this is good for privacy?

Your overzealous and fanatic attitude is harming the open-source community and only helps PayPal or Patreon and other large players who don't care about privacy.

Because they provide an useful and needed service for the community. As such, they should be in the first place supported rather than shamed & blamed. As they themselves live from donations, the latter can only drive people away from them, and we will again end up with PayPal & friends as the only alternative.

Even more excitingly, there's a new player - Climate and Environmental Protection Foundation established in Germany essentially by Gazprom. As an environmental NGO, one of their objectives is to... purchase pipeline parts on behalf of Gazprom.
Note the second screenshot is from last year but only because the latest news headers weren't so nice even though they contain basically the same message
Rust
I don't think the journalist lied intentionally. The idea of "thousands killed in Fukushima" has been repeatedly and intentionally spread in connection with nuclear power by Greens for ages.
As should this photo, by Виктория Халиуллина (Victoria Halyullina). It depicts the pro-Navalny protest in Yekaterinburg.
The protesters were forced to walk across the frozen lake. If you zoom in, in the bottom-left corner there's a building with the sign saying:
"WHO ARE WE? WHERE FROM, AND WHERE TO ARE WE GOING?"
The symbolism is so strong it hurts.
@rysiek
Moscow, today
This photo by Chris Niedenthal was taken at the beginning of martial law in communist Poland, in 1981.
It is packed with symbolism. The armored personnel carrier is in the foreground, on the backdrop of the "Moskwa" ("Moscow") cinema with Apocalypse Now banner (translated in Polish as "Time of Apocalypse").
It became an icon, a screenshot of the political moment.
@kravietz Because this is not about environment but about political agenda. You get the same hate and irrational fear towards GMO.
China's first Hualong One (HPR1000) #nuclear reactor was connected to the Chinese grid on January 30th.
Another five HPR1000s are scheduled to enter service by next year, making for 4 total in China and 2 in Pakistan.
As China's first self-developed Gen III reactor design, it is targeted not only at the domestic market, but also at the export.
Construction time was 5 years. (via Maya Posh)
