Not sure how many people are aware of this but there is a project called Lemmy which is basically an open source federated Reddit which at least appears to care about moderation on the surface.
Its alive and in the wild too!

Google has suspended Element (@matrix) from the Play Store for "Sexual Content and Profanity". Basically same story as with Subway Tooter a while back. Element is to Matrix as Chrome is to the web. Curiously, Chrome is still on the Play Store.

Tesla certainly has demonstrated that it's possible to build a long-range general-use EV. This is a fact and should be respected.
At the same time there's no doubt it's a car in the luxury class that nowhere near the mass market availability.
Regarding prices, I certainly am in favour of electrification of everything (not just cars), and would switch to an EV as soon as it makes sense to me. There are physical and economical challenges to it though:

But I have just explained on numbers how it's *neither* utilitarian nor economical as of today.
How can you say - using past tense - Tesla "proved" anything based on an assumption about something that may potentially happen in future?
I could just as well say a Maybach is utilitarian and economical using this logic because one day I may afford it.
Kogo okupuje Szwecja? 🤔
Tesla may be fun (never driven one) but how they are utilitarian and economical. For 27'000 GBP (cheapest 2014 model I was able to find in UK) you basically get a luxury sedan.
Disclaimer: I've been driving hybrids (Prius, Auris) since 2013 and considered EV once per since on average, but I just can't make any functional (size & range) and economical (price) sense of them. for my usage scenarios.
local slavery history
Mynydd Cilfái (Kilvey Hill), out a little way east of here, had Maesteg House [1] built at its foot. Pascoe St Leger Grenfell [2] owned it and the family's tin and copper smelting business here in Swansea. He originally came from Buckinghamshire from a family of wealth and power.
While Grenfell's father apparently supported William Wilberforce in the abolition of slavery [3], neither father nor son released the 348 people they were keeping in slavery in Jamaica until it became illegal in Britain in 1833, whereupon Grenfell applied for compensation and received the modern equivalent of £500 000 [4]. The 348 were not compensated.

The reboots need to be agreed because the modules live in Pine64 Clusterboard and there's no way to reboot it from the operating system. Reboot command on a single SOpine results in it basically going to sleep until power cycled on the whole board.
Three #pine64 SOpine to rent for #linux #hosting if anyone is interested. Each is 4x CPU cores, 2GB RAM, 32GB SD disk, running Armbian 20.11.6 (equivalent to Ubuntu 20.04.2 Focal).
€15/each/month
Terms of service: reboots only in an agreed maintenance window, no stuff illegal in UK, no spam.
Processor : AArch64 Processor rev 4 (aarch64)
Hardware : sun50iw1p1
BogoMIPS : 48.00
The other modules I have are running stuff like Matrix Synapse, PostgrerSQL and IPFS so they're pretty capable.

Surprisingly, a lot of foods are also cheaper in the UK than in say Eastern Europe, where wages are much smaller. And I don't only mean "cheaper relative to wages" but actually cheaper nominally, dollar for dollar.
