Dobrze, że zrobiłem screenshot 😀
I've just tried Nheko #matrix desktop client for the second time after a few months and it's now pretty usable! 👍 Most importantly, it supports E2EE.
Authentic first-hand screenshot done just now - Russian embassy in the Netherlands protesting against discussion on "Bellingcat" investigation on #MH17 because, wait for it, according to them THIS IS AN INTERNAL AFFAIR OF RUSSIAN FEDERATION!!!
Facts:
1) MH17 was shot by Russian rocket over territory of Ukraine
2) Russia denies any involvement in the conflict or presence of its armed forces in UA
3) Russia says its an INTERNAL affair

That's precisely the point - early "radiation therapy" or homeopathy didn't have any solid scientific base either then or today, it was all snake oil from the beginning.
At the same time vaccinations, even the early ones, had a very strong and visible positive health on both individual chances of survival and herd immunity.
It's a bit like equating modern antibiotics with Jerzy Zięba dried beetroot pills and saying "in general, we should distrust them all"...
You won't see it covered a lot in the news as it's so multidimensional that it's hard to turn into a single news title. Some sample answers:

🇪🇺 Speaking of cultural differences between various European populations we often rely on national stereotypes ("Poles are chaotic", "Russians like authoritarianism").
One particular study - European Values - is especially intriguing as it's repeated every few years and includes most European countries *including* those outside of EU.
Its results are... interesting and in many ways surprising.
@kmic Absolutely it is, because 19th century was only the beginning of the modern epistemology of science. Eugenics for example was totally pseudo-scientific from modern point of view.
Nonetheless, speaking specifically of vaccination, anyone who did it in 19th century even in its early forms had much larger chances of survival than those that didn't, which was the very reason why it became so popular in aristocratic circles in the first place.
@freemo @cwebber hey there! Some info you might find helpful. The tools for independently hosting your own Guix packages and extensions get lots of love and there are already a number of well-maintained outside forks, including mine. Forking Guix is easy. I wrote recently about how its design intentionally frees users from dependence on upstream maintainers and provide an inclusive mechanism for all business models & licenses: https://www.ryanprior.com/posts/what-is-guix-really/#headline-10
@kmic The very article you linked serves as a great example of the contrary - inoculation did work and it was observable with even early statistical methods.

This (fishing) village is called #Urk. An extremely conservative Christian former island. Largest political party is the Christian fundamentalist SGP. It has a very high birth rate (cause God wants you to propagate) and a lot of young people there are attracted to far-right parties like the PVV and the FvD. As expected a lot of those people think Covid is a hoax, although they still believe in God. 🤔
@neil Same in Reading, finally some proper winter 😀
@kmic In this particular case they certainly weren't - before inoculation the case mortality of smallpox was 30%, after it went down to 3%.
