@kmic The infamous "ustawa o IPN" act was like 100% copy of similar Russian legislation making it a crime to even suggest that either country did anything wrong during WW2
@kmic In terms of "following Russia", there is a specific pattern of political engineering behaviours that PiS copied verbatim from Russia:
* attempt to take control over the judiciary
* state TV pushing aggressive government propaganda
* other state media banning not only any criticism against government (Trójka and Kazik) but also firing journalists who don't comply
* wild conspiracy theories pushed to attract fringe political supporters ("zamach smoleński")
* rewriting history ("wyklęci")
I don't think *this* particular case has anything to do with nepotism. You've got local police actively attempting to prosecute a political repost on social media - that's totally bending the rules.
I did think about a possibility that it could have been prosecuted based on hate speech laws etc but if this was the case the court wouldn't have dismissed that.
75% Internet users in Russia hesitate to share political jokes on social media

I specifically wanted to brief @mathix on this one but of course forgot the URL 😂 Thanks!
Please welcome my friend (IRL!) @mathix yet another brave soul to move to Mastodon! 🇵🇱 👍
Do you want more people to notice your posts on Mastodon and the Fediverse?
✅ Use hashtags on your public posts if you want people to find them. For privacy reasons, the only way to search on Mastodon is by hashtag, so if there are no hashtags the posts will not appear in search results.
It is totally ok to use lots of hashtags if your posts deals with lots of different topics! Don't be embarassed to have a list of hashtags at the end 😄
@mathix Ja głównie po tagach, potem jakoś samo przylatują ciekawe rzeczy :) Zobacz ludzi, których ja robię follow albo posty, które boostuję - może trafisz coś ciekawego
The primary function of TLS in.today's web apps is server authenticity, which is required for even totally public content like CSS, JS etc. This helps avoid content injection attacks, but has also unfortunately killed all proxy caching. I guess what we are after is HTTP cleartext content signing protocols but there is not much interest in that for a number of reasons.

It doesn't prevent one specific abuse though: vote sale and vote coercion, because in mail-in vote it's easy for third parties to see your voting card before it's sent.
