Last time I checked Israel supplied water, electricity, food and medicines to Palestine while the other side responds with rockets and abductions.

Early this year #archlinux started using #zstandard for their packages:

> zstd and xz trade blows in their compression ratio. Recompressing all packages to zstd with our options yields a total ~0.8% increase in package size on all of our packages combined, but the decompression time for all packages saw a ~1300% speedup.

This woman, who has done a great deal of good in her life, deserves better than this. She has been a wonderful activist for equal rights as well as science and deserves some support.

I rarely share go fund me pages, but this one seems worth sharing.

A lot of state propagandists from state media have quit their jobs or went on strike in last days. To replace them belarusian regime is now bringing russian media workers. (on the picture belarusian state news agency reposting Russia Today) #Belarus

@MichaelA

Do you sit with sinners, or you rather call them sodomites straight away? 🤔

@MichaelA
Blanket condemnation and patronising without even trying to understand someone's situation is directly opposite to the actions of Christ, who took care of anyone, and *especially* of the weak and in need.

If you had a sister, you would be certainly the last person she would come for an advice I'm afraid. Just wondering do you really imagine a sister approaching you and saying "I plan to murder an unborn baby"?

Watching long sequences of ...WWOWWWFN... over RS232 console

Trying all the standard baud rates to no avail

After a hour or so: oh yes, why would they use standard if they could use 1500000?

@MichaelA

> if we live as God commands,

Precisely. You should live by God's commands rather than writing rants about others being compliant or not compliant. Your job is to do good, not police others for not doing it.

It all went wrong in the 80s. Worse service and higher cost. 1989 in this case.

"England's privatised water companies showered their shareholders with a total of £1.2 billion in 2018 alone"

For ISPs and telcos who have had a rubbish day because of the Equinix outage, this should probably be your evening reading.

QT decodedlegal: “Network operators: reporting obligations for reductions in availability”

A quick (but detailed) blogpost on when ISPs and telcos need to notify Ofcom because things have gone badly wrong and stopped working.

@MichaelA

Hint: you are not Jesus.

It's precisely people with obsession of control, theologians and cynical priests like Pope Alexander VI, who turned Christianity into heartless quasi-legal system with themselves as top enforcers and providers of ultimate interpretations for personal gain.

If more people just followed His teaching, world would be a much better place...

@MichaelA

If you want to be a tax clerk to others, then it's your choice. You should be however aware that there's nothing more distant from Christ's teaching than this.

@MichaelA

Because if you are a Christian, then you should live by the New Testament only.

Not by Old Testament with its early tribal and bloody rituals.

Not by some puritan theologians with the spirituality of an accounting clerk.

You should live by the teaching of Christ.

And it's quite simple really. It's not your job as a Christian to obsessively lurk into other people's lives to find sin. It's between them and the God, not you.

Your job is to be Christian to them.

After a second PSU failure the BIOS reduced CPU speed to 10% which killed performance and skyrocketed load average. Situation promptly saved by @faelix 👍
