So far most of the people left the streets. Only riot cops are going around detaining and beating up single individuals and small groups. This was the second night of uprising in #Belarus against regime of Lukashenko. Have a good night and safe road home.
Very good reading indeed 👍
Belarusian anarchists wrote a long read explaining situation in #Belarus in perspective of longer political and social development. Must read - https://pramen.io/en/2020/08/how-did-the-belarusians-come-to-rebellion-against-the-dictatorship/ #Elections #ACAB #Anarchism

Hey Fosstodon! I'm Andrew and I'm an Operations Engineer by day (and night, the middle of the night). I've been a FOSS user for about 15 years now and haven't used social media for the last few.
I've rediscovered Mastodon and decided to join you guys. I've already seen a few great posts in 30 minutes, so I'm looking forward to what I'll learn and what I can share!
@mhamzahkhan Same in Reading. But I'm optimistic - next week I'm going to Swansea for a little vacation, it's guaranteed to get cold and rainy all across the South 😂
It's a spectrum, and on this spectrum Hungary or Poland are still far far away from Belarus and Russia. Being in EU certainly prevents some authoritarian tricks, like taking control over legislative or media.
Well, Russia just had the largest rigged referendum in history with the self-appointed sociopathic tsar extending his rule until the end of Unix epoch 🤷♂️

It's worth noting that while #TNMoC is on the #BletchleyPark campus, it's a separate institution with its own (much lower!) entrance fee. Although you can visit both in a day, I found myself coming back to TNMoC much more often than revisiting BP. I'd recommend TNMoC first and BP in the remaining time. Also notable that it's TNMoC that now has the Bombe, as well as the Colossus which it always had.
Bletchley park is a short and easy journey from London, if you have a day in hand.

Actually, the largest achievement of free market capitalism in 90's Poland was making toilet paper a widely available good rather than a preciously hoarded commodity 😂
And the best thing was it happened literally overnight, free market didn't even need a year.
