@nikolal you're from Serbia if I'm not mistaken? How is this perceived among people there - and what do you think?

@lord @NHonigdachs@norden.social

Nothing prevents us from looking at Russian literature and culture in a new way today - I always highlight that Russia != Putin when talking to my friends.

@lord @NHonigdachs@norden.social

Very likely, most -ski have some Polish origins. In 17-19 century there was a lot of mixing of Polish and Russian families as well as lot of cultural exchange, which unfortunately later stopped almost completely as USSR was perceived as an occupier. Today few people speak Russian in Poland and few know Russian literature, especially modern.

@kravietz there is a better demonstration as for me. At the left plot we can see this suspicious spikes around round numbers: 0.70, 0.75, 0.8, 0.85, etc.

Btw this pink shading are potentially fraudulent votes.

Fascinating referendum results in Russian Klintsy: almost all even voting districts have 91% exactly while almost all odd districts have 90% exactly 😂

@lord

Yes, I wasn't very good at the burial terminology 😃 I speak quite good Russian, travel to Russia too.

@NHonigdachs@norden.social

@kmic On the other hand, there are low populated places which are just perfect for PV and wind farms like this one en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ouarzaza

@kmic

ITER is scheduled to go first plasma in 2025 and it's pretty much on schedule and it will have 500 MW output but... it's designed as 100% experimental reactor, not actual power generation facility. Engineering experience learned from ITER will be then used to build actual power-generating fussion reactors but if it works I suppose this will be a quick and global switch as 35 countries participate in ITER with all intellectual property shared between participants.

Folding@Home became the first Exascale supercomputer in the world and actually discovered SARS-CoV-2 structures that give hope for a new anti-viral drug.

@kmic

I guess the only correct answer is: depends where. In densely populated Europe any land not used for housing is used for farming, and any land not used for farming is used for recreation and nature reserves. Large scale RE installations are directly competing with each of these land usages. People are protesting against onshore wind farms in Norway, France and Germany, and against PV farms in UK already. And their arguments are much more solid than anti-nuclear ones...

@dump_stack It's only 11pm, they're still drinking 🤷‍♂️ 😂

Actually, some Ben Darlow noticed this too and turned it into watercolor 😂
