Jezu, to dopiero debilizm... 🤦‍♂️ Wyciąć, zabetonować...

@dump_stack

Fully support 😂

But you know what I mean by "obstacle" - not only blatantly ignoring the laws (as they do a lot anyway) but also bending and twisting the law to a point that it becomes contradictory to its own spirit, even if it technically remains compliant to the letter of the law. The 2008 Medvedev-Putin charade for example was legal but totally against the spirit of the initial Constitutional restriction, not to mention 2012.

@isagalaev

This is interesting. I was always wondering why some (but statistically significant) English teachers in Russia pronounce words like "first" as фёрст or even фюрст. Might be unrelated but this е-ё confusion might be a hint.

@dump_stack

Maybe all the girls who are in love with Vova? But yes, this is a bit strange.

@dump_stack

Precisely - that's the risk of a populist politician who needs to switch from critique to a productive action. In reality, it's never a "single dictator" but the whole political establishment and dictator is their reflection.

As for the presidential restrictions, I never saw any Consitutional or other formalities to be an obstacle for a "proper" action in Russia 😂 If not president, then PM or whatever, options are countless.

@tsturm

A lot of Polish people are struggling with this on daily basis 😂

@tsturm

Yes, someone also mentioned German umlauts in this context!

Fortunately, Polish spelling is so bloody complicated that nobody even approaches it without a proper Polish keyboard 😂 All diacritics are however available as Alt combinations so Alt-O makes Ó so quite easy.

In Russian translit keyboard ё is placed at Shift-3 so replacing # which is not much of a loss.

Awesome guide from @levansfr@twitter.com for Synapse powerusers on tuning disk space. We'll be incorporating as much of this as possible into Synapse itself in future :)

Using #LoRa (long range) frequencies to leverage the reach of #briar.
(a e2e encrypted messenger that routes everything through Tor when there is internet connection, if there is none, it can create a meshnet)

Currently only a gitlab issue.

But a prototype that uses #meshtastic instead of briar reports to have a reach for about 1-2km (single device to single device) and can be used for around 8 days without recharging.

More about that here:

Ulyanovsk in Russia has a monument dedicated to the letter ё (yo) which is often replaced by е (ye) due to awkward placement on keyboard (I suspect?).

On translit keyboard layout which I'm using it's no bother, so I can write ёёёё as much as I like 😀

To ostatnie - znam sytuację z przepisami o drzewach w Polsce i znam przypadki gdy ludzie "usychają" drzewa, żeby potem dostać pozwolenie na wycięcie. Ale co komu cudze drzewo przeszkadza?

@freemo

Back in 2000's I had to somehow dispose of probably 100 kg of various chemicals from my home hobby lab. Nothing extreme but obviously some strong bases, acids, solvents, organics, some slightly toxic stuff etc. Fortunately my colleague from uni runs a company specializing in disposal of things like rocket fuel so it was an easy call 😂

@dump_stack

So as with all populists, Navalny is winning by criticism of the kleptocratic status quo.

Putin could disarm this argument easily... well, by simply reforming the kleptocratic status quo.

But Putin specifically cannot do it because he built it from the scratch 🤷‍♂️

Nobody can say that Navalny could either, but that can be only answered after he enters the government.

@dump_stack

How this happened has two factors:

* on the other hand Putin repeating 100% the same promises and even literally the same phrases (нет времени на раскачку) since 1999, and failing to deliver

* Navalny being the voice of "social justice" in which he does fairly good job as this is essentially what people on the ground seem to be feeling ("they're all thieves") and as it seems what is actually happening on the top (I'm not aware of any of his investigations that would be fake)

@dump_stack

The young could be still impacted by school and the macho image. Then they grow up :)

Latest Levada open question poll about people who inspire Russians - and in two age groups (25-39, 40-54) Navalny is mentioned just as often as Putin. Mark of times...

This also says a lot about the ineffectiveness of state propaganda, as since 1999 trust in state media has fallen dramatically and people switched to social media... and Navalny can into YouTube :)
