Ah that's a fair point, they indeed do news feed too!

@feld

Are you calling DDG to implement manual tweaks in search results? 🤔

> For example, one of the reasons why people have been crowded in ghettos is the fact that housing is so expensive in the suburbs, and one reason for that is that bylaws restrict the building of multi-occupancy housing. These bylaws have been very effective in keeping out moderate-income housing from the suburbs, and that has kept out working people, among whom blacks are disproportionate, from moving there and having access to good schools.

Same in UK too...

@Mayana @Cheeseness

Ok so once everyone explained everything and there seems to be no controversy I think we can all again be at peace.

@Mayana @Cheeseness

I understand this and I appreciate need for analogies. My original point was that a bad analogy is worse than no analogy at all. In response - instead of a sensible comment like yours - I got a patronizing and dismissing FO.

> When I saw the expression in that officer’s face and that three other officers were around him standing by as if this was just business as usual, I thought of Hannah Arendt and her phrase “the banality of evil.” What Arendt found most horrific was that ordinary people were able to commit horrible killings, and at the end of the day, they went back home to their nice homes and their nice families, and the next day they went back and killed again.

Dear @Mayana

@Cheeseness original comment did not offend me. I just commented on the rainforest fundraising message.

Then I politely explained that why using metaphors may be counterproductive if the message is as straigtforward as ALM/BLM and metaphor is complex and controversial.

What did offend me was the two rude, dismissive and patronising responses I got in return, and I replied accordingly. No hard feelings, just an usual day on social media :)

@Cheeseness

The depth of your comment seems to be proportional to your nickname.

@Cheeseness

You might just simply write "when someone says black lives matter it's a bit of a evasion to ask hey, don't other lives matter too?" and I could only but like it.

Have a big long think if using far-fetching analogies and metaphors is the best way to explain a simple idea that can be presented directly.
