We've put up DuckDuckGo billboards across the US, UK, SE, NL, BE, DK (with DE, FR & ES to come soon). If you spot a in your community, we'd love to see it!
Here's a map of all of our live locations (subject to change): https://duckduckgo.com/billboards/
In wake of the death of George Floyd at the hands of police, an unjust murder by people hungry with power I just want to remind everyone this isnt the exception in the USA, it is the norm.
Each year we have dozens of innocent or non-violent criminals murdered by police with plenty of evidence and the police almost always get off with little or no punishment, certainly arent treated as the murderers they are. Here is an incomplete list of many of the people unjustly murdered by police in the USA with evidence to back it up and with no or little justice ever served:

The 2038 deadline for coal, and the 2050 dealine for fossil gas, are truly beautiful concepts from Gazprom point of view as they are guaranteed by nothing but a non-binding political statement in 2020 π #Energiewende
#GraphHopper Routing Engine 1.0 released, after more than 8 years of work: https://www.graphhopper.com/blog/2020/05/25/graphhopper-routing-engine-1-0-released. GraphHopper calculates optimal routes in road networks (for example taken from #OpenStreetMap) for different vehicle types and finds the ideal itinerary when using public transit.

Well that's the best way to destroy biosphere in the first place - first they had to cut all the forest to make space for panels, then periodically prevent any vegetation underneath them.
Lots of shitstorm about this in UK now - Greenpeace and Friends of the Earth are now divided on the subject. The latter believes the solar farm damages biosphere (true), FoE dialectically argues it doesn't π
>Facebook reportedly had evidence that its algorithms were dividing people, but top executives killed or weakened proposed solutions
Heard different accounts about birds and bats and even reindeer, with people protesting against on-shore wind farms in Germany, France, Norway etc.
I guess it's like with all engineering - it has some downsides that we accept if we want to have 24/7 electricity.
The problem I see with wind and solar is that it requires so vast amounts of space, and this is actual show stopper...
Renewable energy believers like to spam any discussion with random links to "100% renewable models". I just got one...

They start big: 716'000 off-shore wind turbines. To give you an idea how many that is, UK recently deployed an off-shore wind farm of 116 towers occupying 70 km2.
Per Stanford model, we'd need no less than 432'000 km2 or 1.2x size of Germany or a square of 700x700 km2 (with actual wind & sea depth).
But then, they mention 2.3m on-shore turbines...
π
I get your point. But I've never really even tried to pronounce it and in writing it looks OK :)
Why not?
DV (domain-validated) TLS authenticates your hostname.
Yggdrasil address is your public key so this is somewhat comparable to DV.
If you use FQDN that maps to Yggdrasil IPv6 then it's not authenticated though, unless you use DNSSEC as well.
Dear #yggdrasil service owners: do *not* merely add an Yggdrasil IPv6 address to your existing https website. It will always fail due to certificate mismatch and you can't get DV cert on Yggdrasil address.
Do create a HTTP-only mirror on Yggdrasil IPv6 or dedicated hostname - Yggdrasil already provides transport encryption so TLS is to some extent redundant.
So:

Peertube has launched a campaign for Peertube V3!
Please consider to donate so they can ship this release, with new features (like livestreaming!!)
On each attempt to connect to a federated instance:
1) check presence of TLSA record in DNS for _xxx._tcp.host.example.com where _xxx is the target port number used by Mastodon/Matrix
2) get the hash from the TLSA record
3) when TLS connection is established, verify the TLSA hash against the certificate actually received

You mean the Baidu page? But according to you say this comes out to be a half-truth at best as it doesn't mention the political aspect of it...
