Get rid of any ambient light in your bedroom. Any LEDs, street lights etc. Make it pitch dark. Human sleep cycle is extremely sensitive to light.

Thanks, that's very insightful comment! As much as I dislike determinist philosophies, I read the article as an attempt to explain the current spike in nationalist and xenophobia sentiments, not a call for more of these.

I think you are idealising the past a bit. Most peasants in most feudal stares were undernourished and harshly exploited, with average life expectancy around 30 years. Peasant uprisings were happening not without a reason...

"But this mental heuristic is known to glitch in other ways. Racism and xenophobia, for example, also recruit pathogen-detection brain mechanisms. The language and metaphors we routinely use to justify moral outrage and our fear of the other also employ pathogen metaphors ... Studies have shown that germaphobes and people who score higher in disgust sensitivity tend to be more ideologically and politically rigid"

The truth is that nobody gives a f... about targets that were set based on "where practical, cost-effective and affordable" criterion. It's never "cost-effective" to upgrade rented homes because that would reduce landlord's profit.

Another "decentralized" cryptocurrency goes centralized. Bitcoin for long time has vast majority of hashing power centralized in China and shared between a few large pools. Seems like cryptographers should have also learned about economy and chaotic systems.

Why you never supply real data in their forms...

"Rail station wi-fi provider exposed traveller data"

"Some of the calls potentially put people’s safety at risk as they were made to Network Rail’s Banavie Control Centre, and clogged up the line for drivers and pedestrians at unmanned level crossings, who were calling to check it was safe to cross the rails."
