Yes, doing E2EE group chats is generally quite challenging. I've seen quite a lot of discussion going on in Matrix.org community about this.
I think WhatsApp *group* chats as opposed to personal chats were never encrypted.

@desdinova Yes, the whole article from the beginning to the end is one large WTF
Quite interesting article about why discord is a bad choice. Especially the end is a bit creepy. Of course it can be explained with anti-spam measures but it leaves a bitter taste.

"The podcasts opened with advertisements for the Free Birth Society’s paid services — online courses and private consultations. Wanting to be prepared, Judith paid $299 for the group’s 10-module video guide on how to freebirth babies at home. The course paints expectant mothers as warriors — and experts, doctors and midwives as the enemy. "
Shitstorm is going on about #Google allegedly "allowing child porn" chats on #WhatsApp being returned in search results.
Nobody really paid attention to the fact, that it's #Facebook who is hosting these groups in the first place. The fact that they're indexed (chats.whatsapp.com has no robots.txt) and returned in search results is merely a secondary symptom.

On the entire fucking moon
Not enough to see
Nothing to see on the moon

Not enough for the british public to see and do on the moon

I dream of a NATO statement on #CyberAttack that will essentially say "no, it's actually you who left your own infrastructure neglected and open to attacks" rather than ritually whine about things being "unacceptable".
All countries *do* have infosec extensive regulations and policies today. Yet, from personal experience, specifically public sector is the one that is most non-compliant with their own regulations. As result they get breached, defaced, phished etc.

ZFS is fantastic. From my point of view it's like lvm2, mdadm and LUKS, only everything in one interface, much more consistent and everything is hot-plug out of the box. You can create combinations of disks of any complexity, add or remove volumes at any time, and it just works. You can even dump the whole ZFS volume and gzip it into backup out of command line. Plenty of features, I've started using it like a year ago and still learning.
Recycling used #nuclear fuel - The Orano la Hague site has been recycling 96% of nuclear materials in used nuclear fuel into new fuel for decades. The remaining 4% nuclear waste is vitrified in canisters, which then require storage for about 300 years, significantly less than the storage time required for unprocessed used nuclear fuel.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0UJSlKIy8g
@nikolal @Wetrix Nothing is encrypted by default in Nextcloud.
If you enable server-side encryption it's kind of extra layer, but keys are stored there so it prevents rather small range of attacks.
End-to-end encryption is in alpha now.
So I just run an instance with regular TLS for transport security and on out of encrypted ZFS storage in case someone steals the server :)
