On Liberal "Democracy"

@DissidentKitty@sunbeam.city Mastodon is essentially a market place of free ideas, and you're all but benefiting from it ;)

@DissidentKitty@sunbeam.city

Communism - build new "clean" society by a violent revolution and elimination of a whole "bad" class

National socialism (Nazism) - build new "clean" society by a violent revolution and elimination of a whole "bad" race

A whole lot of a difference...

@dump_stack I doubt they do but with ActivityPub it would be quite easy for them :)

@0x00 In Europe they advise on best ways of importing Russian gas :)

@chuculate

This is already well quantified and modeled, and I wouldn't be such optimistic:

"Even in the cases in which 80% of electricity is supplied by intermittent renewables on the annual average, there are still times when wind and solar is providing very little power, and if blackouts are to be avoided, the gap-filling dispatchable electricity service must be sized nearly as large as the entire electricity system."

kencaldeira.wordpress.com/2018

So Australia's Greens energy advisor is all enthusiastic about storage for country's renewable energy... but his estimate is off by just over 10344%

A better perspective on speculation execution and C

"Creating a new thread is a library operation known to be expensive, so processors wishing to keep their execution units busy running C code rely on ILP (instruction-level parallelism). They inspect adjacent operations and issue independent ones in parallel. This adds a significant amount of complexity (and power consumption) to allow programmers to write mostly sequential code"

"The quest for high ILP was the direct cause of Spectre and Meltdown."

@anarchiv In Russia (and Poland for that matter) you can't have a good party without a heated debate about politics so had to learn the skills! @GreenandBlack @DissidentKitty@sunbeam.city

@nikolal He gives a few examples in the article including... US gov :)

@dump_stack He's got a point - if you're selling a product as "unhackable", you need to take responsibility for the whole supply chain (pun intended :)

@dump_stack correct, expletives are subject to inflation just like currency :)

@dump_stack Precisely - nobody says "зараза" in Russian as an expletive. I guess they did it to avoid issues with age rating. "Fuck" in English-language movies is on the other hand so abundant that it's almost boring now.

Out of three "Witcher" dubbing variants, as it comes to "[expletive]" and "hmm", where expletive is one of:

Kurwa (PL) youtube.com/watch?v=_A-_44pRM4
Fuck (EN) youtube.com/watch?v=Se5pnYyYs_
Zaraza (RU) youtube.com/watch?v=kbTi_5aNJR

The PL one is the best, just hear it for yourself.

"The largely dominant meritocratic paradigm of highly competitive Western cultures is rooted on the belief that success is due mainly, if not exclusively, to personal qualities such as talent, intelligence, skills, efforts or risk taking. Sometimes, we are willing to admit that a certain degree of luck could also play a role in achieving significant material success. " arxiv.org/abs/1802.07068

@pazan Весь приколь в этом - по американском государственном здании разгуливают чуваки переодеты как Буряты с Крыма :)
