Well, as with every nationalism, Polish nationalism assumes superiority of Polish language and culture.

So anyone claiming any other culture is superior to Polish is a natural enemy.

So if Russian nationalist programme does not include switching to Roman-catholic religion, Latin alphabet and Polish language, they are obviously not compatible.

@1w4kvra Most Poles aren't really catholic in spiritual and moral sense, they merely celebrate the rituals. I guess same for Russian Orthodox.

But the essence of christianity - the brotherhood of people, love, mercy and forgiveness - is completely lost. From practical perspective I don't think it would make any difference for most of us if we bow to a cross or if we danced around a pole with a cow's skull or something like that :)

Those who constantly talk about Volyn are Konfederacja, a colourful band composed of hard-line nationalists, antivaxxers, neonazis etc with strong links to Moscow.

Like famous clown Janusz Korwin-Mikke, who frequently speaks on Russian state TV.

The problem is that no "nation" exist outside of human perception, it's purely a social construct.

And I personally know so many idiots speaking Polish language that an idea of having anything in common with them - apart from the language - is appaling and ridiculous to me.

@1w4kvra I can't really see how they can be seen as "fellow nationalists" by a Russian nationalist, since PiS is viciously anti-Soviet and anti-Russian in their rethorics.

That's perhaps the essence of stupidity of nationalism in general - you don't classify people by their virtues and character, but by belonging into rather abstract and vaguely defined "nations".

@1w4kvra That was a tough choice this time as both leading parties (PiS, PO) are assholes. I ended up voting Bartoszewski, a reasonable guy who was nominated from... PSL, farmers' party, which is really centrist one. The circus of politics in Poland...
