@yogthos Out of all countries in the world, USSR and Russia have the least moral right to teach about it ;)

If you're an iPhone user, you've likely downloaded the new iOS 13 (go, you!). @davidnield lays out all the ways the latest version keeps you even more protected, including:

• Sign in w/Apple
• Block Bluetooth access
• Strip location data from photos wired.com/story/ios-13-securit

Preparing for a major upgrade this weekend. The service may go offline at moments or experience delays in scans.

@Wetrix @CyberSocialist I wouldn't be that pessimistic, because the civilisation as we see it has *not* collapsed. It has recovered from the Plague, WW1, WW2, ozone depletion, overpopulation and gradually improved after each of these. Hopes are it will still find enough reason to recover from AGW and again take some lessons from it.

Funny how nobody warning about DoH ever notices that "organisations" could indeed run their own DoH/DoT servers and implement any policy they like bleepingcomputer.com/news/secu

Main limitation being of course that it would require ten year long transition program as your whole "organisational" DNS runs on some ancient crap commercial or cloud nameserver, who only heard about DoH/DoT in 2019 and it's just as new to them as say IPv6

@Wetrix @CyberSocialist It depends what you take for "long term". Communism longest survived ~70 years and collapsed indebted to Western countries. Capitalism in Europe and US probably 10x that and over that period, and globally people experienced crowing standards of living, health and life expectancy. This is an nicely visualised on gapminder.org/tools/ based on actual data.

@yogthos The point is not throwing or video editing skills here, the point is nice legs ;)

@hansw@mastodon.social The whole wire encryption (!) in TACACS+ protocol is based on MD5 (!) generating keystream and you can't change it. But it's by definition intended to run inside trusted ISP network which somewhat limits exposure. I told you it's 90's protocol :)

OMG so this is a project with some History: started in mid-90's, then I left ISP job and gave it to another guy, then Jeroen changed job too and the project was half-abandoned, so I decided to take it back. Now, refactoring C code written over the course of 20 years is... real fun although I must admit back in 90's I avoided quite a lot of typical C pitfalls - no CVEs so far even though it's relatively popular in some circles github.com/kravietz/pam_tacplu

@Wetrix I don't think they really respect privacy, they just have different model of monetizing it. Android is pretty secure and usable when used in de-googled distros like LineageOS or GrapheneOS

@yogthos Actually, I have some of these at home. Found them at local Gumtree being sold by some British guy and bought with an intention to give them as a gift to a colleague working in Roskosmos. Currently waiting for me to have time to visit Moscow :)

@Wetrix When you use Apple you support Google by Google-Apple 8 billion a year commercial services agreement 😜

@CyberSocialist What do you mean by "how to multi-home"? In most cases you just add address from another family, and it does not interfere with other families in any way.

This is how it works on dual IPv4/6 stack - separate routing, address discovery etc. Now, multiple IPv6 addresses from different networks is where fun starts...
