We should get back to communist block methods of car manufacturing imho. Build them extremely cheap and sturdy. If your car isn't made of cotton and doesn't last thirty years without maintenance, I am not interested

As we're complaining about people switching cars often, but I see no mention of improvements in fuel efficiency and, most importantly, reduced pollution, such as the EURO standard - the differences in allowed emissions of carbon oxide, particulate matter and other pollutants are quite significant, especially for heavy vehicles - e.g. Euro 6 has 40x lower allowed PM emissions than Euro 1 for HGV.
