Some gammon is whinging in local newspaper comments that British Telecom / Openreach is switching to 100% electric vans in time for 2030, claiming its a "green conspiracy", when the reality is that it makes perfect business sense for an organisation that has access to many sites with guaranteed 24/7 electricity supplies (with backup gensets) and often more capacity than they currently use (older Telephone Exchanges would have power infrastructure sized for old electromagnetic equipment)
