What he’s asking is where did it all come from. If you say the entire universe came from one exploding mass the size of a baseball, where did that baseball-sized mass come from and why did it explode? What do you call that original cause?
On his show, Bill always drew criticism for calling his religion of Catholicism a philosophy. I think his view is more like Deism as was many of USA’s founders. God is how we refer to that original cause and now you’re on your own. Don’t ask that cause for help. You’ve been given something and the rest is up to you.
What’s silly is saying people who wonder that question are silly, yet countless philosophers far smarter than most have philosophized about it for thousands of years. You can say it doesn’t matter, that you’d rather not consider the question, and that’s fine. But some people are deeper thinkers.
If you have the answer, mankind will either be eternally grateful or all commit suicide.

Just to be precise, there is no such religion as Catholicism. There is religion of Christianity, based on teachings of Jesus Christ described in the New Testament, and there's a dozen of churches who claim exclusive ownership of Christianity, in violation of the very fundamental paradigm of Christianity itself (communion of all people).
Wouldn't most Catholics be surprised to find out their religion is not one? I think so because in my original post I described how Bill thinks at least somewhat like you and gets in trouble with Catholics every time he refers to Catholicism as a philosophy.

The only thing that triggers me about Christianity is when people are attributing to it things that are not even inconsistent but outright contradictory with what Christ has been trying to hammer into these dumb tribal heads 😂 O'Reilly just seems to be a bit like that. I don't trust people who make money on religion, it's one of the contradictory things.
Yes. Eating and having a roof over your head are good things, necessary even.😀

I watched on minister on tv one time. I've forgotten his name because I only watched it once. He was extremely honest. The whole show was him and his wife sitting at the dining table in his giant log house on the side of a mountain, telling the viewers that they needed more money because the congregation had grown so much they had bought a bigger airplane, and they needed the money to extend their runway so they could bring it home.
He was serious but it was absolutely hilarious.
