@kravietz #policy I agree with the problem statement, that NameCheap is permitting fraudulent behavior. I disagree with the solution approach of calling out NameCheap to take "responsibility". If the ICANN agreement is legally enforceable it should be enforced in front of a court and I'm curious why this is not happening. If not then there is no sensible responsibility-based argument against NameCheap, only an architectural question how the Internet should deal with DN-registrars.

I suppose the guy who wrote this article may not have resources for a court case and tries to apply peer pressure first.

@kravietz had a nighmarish run-in with their "security" dept. any verification could be bypassed with a max of few $ investment, but they turned off my domain 2-3 times for problems they caused meanwhile.
