Especially interested in hearing stories from people who have actually used multiple.

Because they provide an useful and needed service for the community. As such, they should be in the first place supported rather than shamed & blamed. As they themselves live from donations, the latter can only drive people away from them, and we will again end up with PayPal & friends as the only alternative.

They're a steamy pile of shit that baits users to use the most privacy-abusing facilities. They should be shamed until they get it right. You can avoid all that garbage by accepting checks in the US & IBAN wires outside the US, & crypto currency or villages.io for cross-border txns.

Sending a bank transfer for $5 with my personal details is protecting my privacy... exactly how?

Have you ever sent a bank transfer in your life? Both sides see their full legal name *as a minimum* and banks see all the details, including address etc. You must have mistaken IBAN with a BTC address, I'm afraid.

No privacy abuser has been left out. Tossing privacy out just to try to be modern is a non-starter. If you want to be modern & have privacy at the same time, use cryptocurrency.

Which one exactly? Because it's thousands of them, most highly volatile, and you can't buy a shit for them alone - so you buy and sell them at crypto exchanges which will request your driver license and passport as part of KYC.
