Don't ask questions - like "did EC consider..." because it's easy to dismiss :) Just write "EC should support fediverse" as it's a grassroots movement with strong bonds to EU market, EU digital sovereignty, developed by EU businesses and breaking monopoly of US tech companies.
I'm sure we can actually find a number of directives which can be quoted directly as a base for such support.

That's how liberal #democracy works. One of the functions of #parliament is to supervise the executive's actions to ensure openness and #transparency. They do so amongst other things by asking questions.
Simplifying (the #EU is a strange animal), the European Parliament helps set the rules but cannot tell the Commission how to run day-to-day things, that's the Commission's job.
